Manufacturing units of Mohan Spintex
Mohan Spintex India Limited (MSIL) operates four manufacturing units in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, near its headquarters in Vijayawada. Unit 1 is at Vattigudipadu, Units 2 and 3 are at Remalle and Unit 4 is at Mallavalli.[1][2] Together the units have 1,21,488 spindles, 6,272 rotors, 4,800 TFO drums, 324 air-jet looms and a continuous processing range of 1,00,000 metres a day.[2]
The units lie close to Guntur, one of Andhra Pradesh's main cotton-growing areas. The company buys most of its cotton within about 100 km, and also from Adilabad, Warangal and Maharashtra.[1][2]

Unit 1, Vattigudipadu
Unit 1, in Vattigudipadu village, is where MSIL began commercial production in October 2006, with 14,400 spindles on twelve ring frames.[3][4] A second phase, begun with a foundation ceremony in 2007,[5] took the unit to 30,000 spindles in 2008. The whole unit was later converted to compact spinning to serve premium markets.[1][3]
Unit 2, Remalle
Unit 2, in Remalle village, Bapulapadu mandal, was built in 2010–11 after a foundation ceremony in 2009.[1][6] It was installed with 44,064 spindles, 4,576 open-end rotors and 1,920 TFO drums; CARE Ratings dates the start of commercial operations to March 2011.[1] The Managing Director has said the unit, which also had 36 cotton gins, was ready by January 2012, and its formal inauguration took place that year.[3][7] The project was approved under the government's "mega project" scheme.[3]
The company's 10.8 MW rooftop solar plant is at the Remalle site. It began generating power in July 2022 and produces about 13 lakh units of electricity a month.[2][8]
Unit 3, Remalle
Unit 3, also in Remalle village, took the company into weaving. It was planned in 2012–13, its foundation was laid in 2013, and it was built in two phases:[1][9]
- Phase 1 – 38,304 spindles and 90 air-jet looms; commercial operations from April 2015.
- Phase 2 – 9,120 spindles, 1,696 rotors, 2,880 TFO drums and 66 air-jet looms; commercial operations from October 2016.[1]
The two phases were budgeted at ₹181 crore and ₹95 crore and included an Uster testing laboratory.[3]
Unit 4, Mallavalli
Unit 4 is on Plot 16 of the Model Industrial Park at Mallavalli, Bapulapadu mandal (PIN 521111).[10] It was inaugurated in 2019,[11] and the planned investment there was completed in March 2020. The project raised the company's weaving capacity from 50,000 to 90,000 metres a day, added a new processing plant of 1,00,000 metres a day, and increased cut, make and trim capacity from 30,000 to 4,00,000 sets a month.[1] The unit's home-textile products are among the company's higher-margin lines.[2]
The unit weaves, dyes, prints and finishes fabric and makes finished products. Its activities are certified under the European Flax standard, with a Bureau Veritas certificate valid from April 2025 to April 2028.[10] In 2026 Unit 4 was visited by Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh.[12]
Captive consumption
Much of the output at each stage feeds the next. In 2024, 87% of the yarn, 72% of the greige fabric and 37% of the dyed fabric the company produced was used in-house.[2]
Corporate office
The corporate office is at Gunadala, Vijayawada.[13]
Unit-level figures are those reported by credit rating agencies and trade press at the time of commissioning. Machinery has since been added or moved, so current per-unit capacity, headcount and shift patterns should come from Operations.
