Mohan's Sri Vijnana Vihara School, opened in 2025

Mohan Spintex India Limited (MSIL) carries out corporate social responsibility (CSR) work in education, women's empowerment, health, sanitation and community infrastructure, mainly in the villages around its manufacturing units in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.[1]

Under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, Indian companies above defined financial thresholds must spend at least 2% of their average net profit on CSR activities listed in Schedule VII of the Act.

Education

  • 2012 – Distribution of books to government schools.[2]
  • 2014 – Chairman Vallabhaneni Mohan Rao was felicitated at a government school.[3]
  • 2018 – School students visited the company's factories on an educational tour.[4]
  • 2025 – Opening of Mohan's Sri Vijnana Vihara School.[5]

Women's empowerment

In 2015 the company distributed sewing machines to women as a livelihood initiative.[6] Women made up 45% of MSIL's workforce in 2022.[7] In 2015 the company also hosted PMKY skills training at Unit 2.[8]

Health

Community development

Environment

Tree-planting drives have been held at the company's units, and the company reports planting more than 10,000 trees.[15]
