Vallabhaneni Mohan Rao, also known as V. Mohan Rao, is an Indian businessman who is the Chairman of Mohan Spintex India Limited (MSIL), a vertically integrated textile manufacturer based in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.[3] Credit rating agencies describe him as the company's promoter, with four decades of experience in the cotton and textile industry. His son, V. Sudhakar Chowdary, is the company's Managing Director.[1][4] He is a director of the company as recorded with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.[5]

Biography

Mohan Rao has about four decades of experience in the cotton and textile business.[4] Before Mohan Spintex was founded, the family's businesses included fertiliser distribution, run by his son, and tobacco cultivation, which Sudhakar Chowdary has said was looked after by his father.[6]

Mohan Spintex India Limited

Mohan Spintex India Limited was incorporated in May 2005 and promoted by Mohan Rao together with his son, who became its Managing Director.[4] Rating agencies have cited the promoters' experience and track record as a strength of the company.[1][4] Mohan Rao serves as Chairman, and his grandson V. Suhruth Chowdary is also a director.[3][2] The company was incorporated in 2005 and began production in 2006; it has since grown into one of the largest textile manufacturers in Andhra Pradesh, with more than 1,21,488 spindles and 324 air-jet looms.[5][7]

In 2014 Mohan Rao was felicitated at a government school as part of the company's education initiatives.[8] The company's education work has included books for government schools in 2012 and, in 2025, the opening of Mohan's Sri Vijnana Vihara School.[9][10] See Corporate social responsibility of Mohan Spintex.
